Description
This is an exceptional, fine and impressive, unusual antique Victorian English sterling silver goblet; an addition to our collection of presentation related silverware.
This exceptional antique Exeter sterling silver goblet has a circular bell-shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot.
The body of this exceptional Victorian goblet is embellished with two bright cut engraved viola floral sprays, incorporating two arched cartouches.
One cartouche bears the original bright cut engraved illustration of root vegetable, and the other remains vacant.
The upper portion and knop of the pedestal stem are embellished with applied bead decorated borders.
The foot of this Victorian wine goblet is plain and unembellished, with a bead decorated border to the collet style rim.
Such antique examples with horticultural illustrations are rare and becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This antique Victorian wine goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp and the applied ornamentation is sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all very clear.
