Art Deco Celluloid Vanity Purse: Flapper Powder Compact with Carry Cord 1920s

On offer are this rare, elegant art deco vanity purse which dates circa 1920. The body of the case measures 11.5 cm in width by a maximum height of 9.5 cm excluding the carry cord. This body of the case is made of cream celluloid with contrasting black celluloid lid and base. The lid is further decorated with cut and faceted clear paste stones. The push button catch is cream celluloid with black stripes and black circle to the top. The inside of the case is matching black and cream and to the inside there is a bevelled glass mirror with cream celluloid frame which is clear and reflective. In the base is a raised powder well with red silk back lambs wool puff. Beside this is a stand for lipstick perhaps. The case has the original black woven carry cord which hangs from circular celluloid rings. This vanity case is offered in good condition with some light surface scratches to the lid and base. There are no stones missing on the lid and the interior is clean.
