Art Deco Charles Horner Silver & Enamel Brooch c.1924
We have for sale a very striking and rather unusual art deco Charles Horner of Halifax silver and enamel Brooch dating to 1924.
This unusual Charles Horner art deco enameled silver brooch is of a rounded square form form with rounded corners and a blue/green enameled circular centre with a silver rope border surrounded by a rounded square panel with large truncated oval piercings at each corner with each of those piercings being filled with a conical coiled silver rope design. The whole brooch is further decorated with a silver rope twist border.
The back of the brooch carries full English Chester hallmarks for 1924 along with the makers marks for Charles Horner.
The Brooch is 1.25 inches (3.175cm) square and is in a very good antique condition, the enamel is excellent and with no damage but the silver does carry some surface wear commensurate with over 120 years of careful use.
