Art Deco Silver & Marcasite Duette Dress Clip

This is a gorgeous Art Deco silver duette dress clip. The metal frame holds twin silver dress clips, set with marcasites and fashioned as a bow. Worn as one, the piece is a lovely brooch and separated from the frame they can be worn as twin pieces. Marked Silver on the frame and each clip. Dress clips first appeared in the 1920s and were high fashion at the time, the flexibility of them appealed to the modern woman and they were often worn on the straps or neckline of a dress. Fashionable until the 1950s when more traditional brooches became popular once again, dress clips remain a glamorous reminder of the jazz age.
