Art Nouveau High Backed Inlaid Mahogany Armchair

We have for sale a decorative inlaid mahogany Art Nouveau upholstered armchair dating to somewhere around 1901. This remarkably striking chair is of a high backed form with out swept arms and boxwood stringing to the back, legs and turned arm supports. The back and side stretchers are of simple forms, but the two front stretchers and seat front are beautifully crossbanded, as are side supports and cross bar of the back. The chair back is of a slatted form, with the tops of each slat being of an ovoid tulip form decorated with quartered veneer. This chair is very much a decorative piece of art and is perfectly complimented by the upholstering to the upper back and seat.
