This is an exceptionally elegant and unusual Art Nouveau style display cabinet, dating to approximately 1930. Crafted from honey-toned oak, this piece strikes a perfect balance between period organic curves and functional design, making it an ideal showcase for jewellery, curios, or any collection.
• Unique Silhouette: Unlike standard cabinets, this piece features a tall, slender glazed gallery set upon a high-standing, architecturally interesting base.
• Dual-Sided Access: Designed for visibility and ease of use, the cabinet features glass doors on both sides, allowing for versatile placement in a room.
• Interior Display: The interior houses three tiered glass shelves supported by elegantly shaped oak brackets that echo the Art Nouveau aesthetic.
• Sculptural Base: The most distinctive feature is the splayed, four-leg base. It includes a unique central shaped platform/stretcher, adding stability and a touch of avant-garde flair.
• Art Nouveau Detailing: The cabinet is finished with a stylized, wave-form pediment at the top, characteristic of the late Nouveau/early Deco transition.
The cabinet is in good antique condition, showing various authentic marks of age and character confirm its history. The oak has a nice grain and a warm patina. Please see the pictures to help form part of the description.
