My wife and I have been in the Antiques trade for over 28 years initially in Scotland and for the past few years the Cotswolds. We began trading at fairs as far afield as Edingburgh, Swinderby, Kempton, Ardingly and Detling to name but a few. For many years from its inception in 1998 until 2018 successfully trading at The Scottish Antique Centre Doune ,selling a broad range of stock with a particular passion for Arts and Crafts furniture and metalware. Description
A charming original antique silkwork embroidery associated with the Glasgow School, created around 1900. It features craftsmanship typical of the Arts and Crafts movement. The embroidery is made of silk and reflects design elements from the early 20th century. This piece falls under the categories of Miscellaneous and Needlework and Sewing. Worked on possibly by one of the Glasgow girls in the style of Ann Macbeth 1875-1948 an associate of Charles Rennie Macintosh. Presented in good antique condition with minor crease to dress and marks to the original silvered wood and glass frame. Please study all images as they form a good part of the description.
