For sale is this earthenware Arts & Crafts handmade pot/jug.
There is a special name for this type of vessel based on a medieval model albeit similar to a wassail/posset pot.
Typical colours and red earthenware that one would expect from a certain pottery .
Very much in the arts and crafts tradition.Handmade.
Sadly, unmarked.
Two old repairs to the handle.
Yes if you blow through it, it does work.
Suggestion :
C.H.Brannam .Donyatt pottery .
Also initial suggestion Ewenny Pottery Wales .Burkley pottery .
The clay used is a red earthenware clay which can be found in England and Wales .
The colours of the glazes.
Method of construction.
All are made by a potter .
There were many potteries in the UK all operating at the same time .
It's a highly specialized field of expertise.
All of the above is my opinion.
Kind Regards.
