Black Painted Collectors Cabinet Gramaphone Cupboard

This is a useful antique oak gramaphone cabinet which dates to the Edwardian era. Originally designed for storing a wind up Hmv gramaphone the cabinet has been fitted internally with an arrangement of seven useful drawers which are perfect for stowing away a treasured collection or for storing paperwork and stationery. The cabinet is very heavy, solid and well made, with a lift up lid to the top which opens to reveal the original Hmv label and an empty area where the turntable would have once sat. The drawers are fronted by two decorative carved doors and the cabinet is set on turned supports terminating in squat bun feet. I have hand painted this piece in my own mix of water based black paint. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection. The finish is solid colour and is fairly matt.
