Bohemian Green Painted Cabinet with Drawer

This is a useful little antique cabinet dating to the late 19th century. It is fairly compact and ideal for use in an alcove or a room with limited space. It has a rustic and bohemian look which will suit a house with character. The cabinet would have once had doors, these have been removed long ago and it now serves as a useful display unit for books or treasured items. To the front is a single drawer with a stylized fruit handle, this is set over an open display area fitted with a single removable shelf. The cabinet is finished with a deep base plinth at the bottom and a small back plate to the top. I have hand painted this piece in a mid green colour before heavily distressing the paintwork and finishing with dark wax to add some depth and character.
