British Modern Abstract Stone Sculpture Lucy Wynne Estate

For sale is this fabulous mid-century British Modern abstract stone sculpture I bought recently at auction from the estate of a sculptor, Lucy Wynne. Lucy Wynne was a sculptor, print maker, and artist who also worked for the Design Council and an interior designer at John Lewis. Alan Turner was her husband and they both spent most of their lives living in Islington, London. However, I don't believe this was by her as it's nothing like her style. This organic abstract carving shows evidence of having been displayed outdoors. It measures about 9 inches by 9 inches by about 4 inches thick. It weighs a hefty 6.54 kilograms. I believe the stone used is a limestone or similar material. Condition is excellent with a nice weathered look including lichen spots. It's a lovely sculpture which would make a great addition to anyone's collection. It could be displayed indoors or outdoors.
