Burr Walnut Serpentine Card Table C.1860

This is a mid 19th century burr walnut serpentine card table. The table base consists of four turned and carved columns, connected by a single turned base, supported by four shaped and carved legs that terminate with brass castors. The top is veneered in burr walnut with boxwood line inlays that form a floral motif to each corner. The top swivels to reveal a compartment for storing cards and playing counters etc, then folds open to the green baize lined playing surface that is edged with a narrow band of black and gilded leather. Top fully open - 93cm x 95cm.

The table is excellent quality throughout and in very good clean condition (with one old repair to the moulding along the rear edge of the top).
