A superb example of a burr walnut knee hole desk in the early Georgian style. Dating to the late 19th century and of excellent construction in solid walnut with attractive , yet subtle, burr walnut veneers onto a solid oak carcass. Of gentle serpentine form with canted corners and with the top being cross-banded. There is an arrangement of one long central drawer flanked by two sets of 4 , shorter, graduated drawers. All fitted with their original charming brass handles. To the knee hole there is a bow-fronted cupboard (lockable with key supplied) which opens to reveal a shelved interior. The whole desk stands on elegant shaped bracket feet. Recently professionally repolished to a very high standard , this desk is now offered for sale in excellent condition.
