Carved Elm Hall Chair With Hide Seat Circa 1900's

This intricately carved elm hall chair has a wonderful circle pierced back rest with diamond design and tri-form motif design. Both circles are framed with triangle motifs of a foliate design. The chair back frame has a line of gauge-cut symbols in the form of flower petals broken up with tear drops, and a stop chamfer edge to the internal edge frame. The seat is made of hide with a brass studded seat, sitting on turned and square block legs with an 'H' stretcher below. Exceptionally nice elm chair with plenty of character.
