Description
Quality carved oak lectern, probably after design by ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’ and executed by ‘Scott Morton of Tynecastle Edinburgh’, the sloping solid oak writing surface with scrolling ledge piece for holding books in place, all supported on a large rectangular column with a small aperture beneath the top for storage and a brass plaque, not engraved, the front with foliate carving with the top typical of ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’ with a gothic arch with foliate carving, all resting on a rectangular stepped platform base finishing on an enclosed plinth.
