A porcelain, shaped dessert dish from Chamberlain's Worcester factory, produced around 1820-30. Of shaped form with gadrooned edging, large scrolls and a shell handle, all highlighted with gilding. The centre bears a lions head with a scroll above bearing the inscription, PRO. RECE ET. PATRIA (FOR KING AND COUNTRY), both hand-painted in bright enamel colours. The base bears the printed Chamberlains mark, in pink.
The dish measures 8 1/2 inches x 10 inches and stands 2 inches high.
Roger Stretch Antiques has clarified that the Chamberlain's Worcester Armorial Dessert Dish c.1820-1830 (LA337955) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1820-30
In excellent, original, sound condition with just some very minor wear to the gilded decoration.
