Charles Goode, London - Fine early 18th century seaweed marquetry and walnut longcase clock of one-month duration Charles Goode, London - Fine early 18th century seaweed marquetry and walnut longcase clock of one-month duration, the 12-inch dial with mask and foliate spandrels, signed silvered chapter ring with half and quarter-hour markers, matted centre with calendar aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, the movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, reversed trains with internal rack striking on a bell, the case with a flat-topped hood with moulded cornice over blind fretwork, gilt-capped ebonised columns, the trunk with concave throat moulding, panelled sides, moulded door with a gilt lenticle, the base with matching seaweed marquetry and moulded plinth, 84" high. (with a pair of brass capped weight, pendulum, winding key and two door keys). Charles Goode was made free of the Clockmakers Company in 1686 and he had his own workshop in the Strand, London. He was thought to have died in 1730
