Description
This is a charming small mid 19th Century Victorian antique purse with mother of pearl panels. The top panel is delicately carved with a oval fluted pattern and finished with a band to the outer edge. To the centre is a pierced and engraved silver cartouche, with script initials. The hinged, silver plated metal frame has a clasp to one side and opens to reveal the original moiré silk interior, with lockable pocket to the middle. A charming bygone piece.

condition
Very good, with no cracks or splits to the Mother of Pearl. There hinge and clasp are strong. There is some light discolouration to the silk interior and the pocket has become detached to one side, commensurate with age and use.
