Chelsea / Derby James Giles Decorated Porcelain Fruit Painted Dessert Plate c.1770
A very pretty Chelsea-Derby dessert plate with shaped rim and moulded coils and floral droplets around the rim. Decorated in the atelier of James Giles with three beautifully painted arrangements of fruit and wild berries with two colorful butterflies and a little red bug. Finished with a fine gilt line and dentil rim. Gold anchor to the reverse. c.1770,

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Two very minor gilt losses on the rim and some minor wear to the enamels in a few places. It has had a hole drilled through the foot rim to fit a ring for wall mounting.
