Chest On Chest English C.1800

This is an attractive English antique mahogany serpentine fronted chest on chest with brushing slide. Compact and beautifully made. Not too tall, which is an advantage when reaching for the top drawers! Well maintained by former owners and shown here in best showroom condition, having been lightly refurbished and wax polished. The drawers are oak lined and are running smoothly, with brass swan neck handles and a working key. Very useful brushing slide. The quality is excellent with lovely detail to the cornice and fretted sides. There's a well pronounced serpentine shape to this chest and while of compact size, there is an enormous amount of useful storage space with the benefit of the brushing slide. The colour is a rich and mellow mahogany with a good antique patination. A superb chest and an increasingly rare item.
