Late Victorian Scottish sterling silver clan badge for Clan MacDougall. A mailed hand dexter holding a cross crosslet upon a crest wreath over a scrolled motto "Vincere vel mori", Conquer or Die, all mounted upon a sword. Made in Inverness and stamped "McK&Co-- Ins" almost certainly by McKenzie & Co. who where active in Inverness 1850s. Named on the reverse of the sword blade "D.G. MacDougall". 2.5 x 0.75 inch and comes with a modern silver safety chain
