Description
This is a classic marine barometer in traditional style by H. Hughes & Son Ltd., 59, Fenchurch Street, London EC. This postal reference with just 2 letters changed in 1917 although I estimate this instrument to be dated around 1930. The instrument is described on the dial as 'Improved Marine Aneroid Compensated with weather predictions for wind and with readings for north and southern latitudes. It is a heavy instrument with a solid brass bezel framing the bevelled glass. The barometer works well with no dings or dents with a nice brass patina and would grace any home or office.
