Description
Charles Victor HOUR was co founder of Hour Lavigne one of the most famous and influential French clockmakers. Such was their reputation that they made clocks for the most prestigious jewellers including Tiffany & Co. In 1920 they recognised the need for a radical change in design to compliment the new era after the First World War. To meet this need they decided to develop the art deco aesthetic movement using their existing clock movements and changing the cases accordingly. This clock is a good and rare example of such a clock. It has a bronze case, painted ivory dial and a fine quality 8 day French movement. In full working order.
