A wonderful pair of decorator's pieces, these are from different English university boat races and will look great on the wall in a den or games room.
- One oar is from the First and Third Trinity Cambridge University May Bumps race in 1932.
- The lion and three crowns on the other oar refer to the First Trinity College Boat Club at Cambridge University and the date is for Lent in the 19th century, although the year is not clear.
- Each oar has the participants names shown.
- The blades of the oars are painted black and written with gilt calligraphy, the 1932 blade varnished.
- Both have oar leathers attached.
- The 'looms' or main central sections, are different shapes, with the 1932 one fluted.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. The leather on the 1932 oar is loosely attached.
