Description
These are a rare pair of Derby porcelain coffee cups dating to around the time of the Chelsea/Derby merger, with sunflower moulding at the base and blue borders with edgings in gold. Flat, angular handles with moulded ceramic rivets, all outlined in gold. The bases of both have the hand-written crowned D mark, in blue, along with the cursive N (one in blue, the other incised) found on early pseudo-Sevres pieces accompanied by a small hole in the foot rim, characteristic of these early pieces.
