An early 17th century English wainscot chair , constructed from oak and having a double paneled back with the top panel being carved. The shaped arms supported by by finely turned balusters, slotted through a molded and chip carved seat , below the turned legs joined by peripheral stretchers. The chair has had some old restorations commensurate with age. Overall this is a good sturdy arm chair with a fantastic patina and is in excellent condition.
