Early 17th century & Later Livery Cupboard. Carved oak livery cupboard in three parts, with carved details throughout, the upper section comprising a raised back, the projecting cornice with twin turned pendants surmounted by carved masks above three panels flanked by carved scroll brackets, below is a cupboard enclosed by a panel door flanked by carved figural terminals, the base with a carved and shaped apron above four square and bulbous turned and fluted supports together with a central stile and joined by peripheral stretchers. It is likely to have adopted its current form during the nineteenth century when there was a revival of interest in early oak furniture. Early pieces were often restored with later components or in some cases items were remodelled. Dimensions: 149cm wide x 60cm deep overall x 34cm deep at top x 168cm high. 96cm base height.
