Early 19th Century Dutch Copper Milk Pail

This is an all original early 19th Century Dutch copper milk pail retaining original blacksmith made iron swing carrying handle and with a wonderful 'early copper' colour. The pail has an horizontal copper riveted band just below the lip and also exhibits a single vertical band of rivets as a 'joining band' that leads to the hand-made and purposefully decoratively shaped arched copper oval that the swing handle locates into. The pail displays a multitude of very reassuring outer minor dents commensurate with age (nothing major, see images), is in totally original untouched condition save for a small lead repair under the lip (unvisible unless you specifically look for it, see image) and would make a great kindling, coal or log 'basket'. The pail is unexpectedly large at 35.5cm diameter and 32.5cm high and as you will see from the images, also has a continuous circular band of rivets to the outer edge of the underside, make no mistake, this desirable antique, originally from the Netherlands, will outlast all of us! An absolute 100% genuine 200 year old antique, this piece will undoubtedly give the purchaser a great deal of pleasure for many years to come.
