Our business is based in the beautiful village of Debenham in Suffolk, England, which is close to Constable country. I take our pride in being the 4th generation in my family to be antique dealers who have been buying and selling antiques for over a century. With our expanding web presence in the UK, we also have a base in the USA with Debenham Antiques inc. Along with expanding our international web based business, we also quite unusually retain our high street presence, with a large retail shop which we use to display our finest goods, and to offer the client a more personal service for the those who like to discuss their needs.
Here at Debenham Antiques we try to cater for all styles and tastes, and we believe this is reflected in our stock as you can find anything from 15th century carvings to late 20th century fine quality furniture. We have experts in furniture and paintings who buy our goods with safe knowledge. We also offer a wide range of fine quality reproduction furniture which is all lovingly handcrafted by ourselves locally, using the best timbers.
Debenham Antiques works hard to ensure that we provide the client with a quality experience from start to finish. All our buying, photography, restoration, polishing and shipping is carried out in house by our dedicated team of staff. This we feel allows us to be in control from start to finish, which only benefits our customers.

Early 19th century hand painted swedish folk art cupboard circa 1813. Fine example of swedish traditional furniture, comprising of 2 parts, the main body and a lift off cornice. We choose this piece on our travels as it's more substantial than the normal and has a open storage aperture half way up, which is not typical. profusely hand painted using a kurbit method of application. piece is initialed and dated 1813 just below the cornice. double door upper cupboard opens to reveal a interior of 2 fixed shelves and a further shallow shelf, partially concealed in the cornice. moving down to the shaped serving surface with original mouldings. single door cupboard below, containing 1 fixed shelf for plenty of storage. moulded edging at floor level to finish. Working locks and key. Expected surface marks and fading for a 200 old piece of furniture. evidence of woodworm damage that has long been treated and no longer active. strengthening on the inside of panel to lower cupboard. beautiful piece of rustic furniture, still ready for everyday use.
