Description
A charming early 20th Century turned wooden hat stand, crafted in the traditional manner from richly figured hardwood with an attractive warm honey brown patina. The stand features a broad circular top designed for displaying or storing a hat, supported by an elegantly turned and baluster shaped column rising from a substantial dished circular base.
The piece is neatly proportioned and demonstrates the simple yet refined craftsmanship typical of the Edwardian period. The stand breaks down into two sections via a threaded wooden screw fitting, allowing for easy transport and storage. The timber displays beautiful grain throughout, particularly to the base where the figuring is especially pronounced.
A practical and decorative item, ideal for displaying antique hats, military headwear, wigs, or as an unusual addition to a dressing room, shop display, or country house interior.
