A fine quality earlier example of a French strike/repeat/alarm carriage clock by Billiet & Robin of Paris. A gorge variation finely floral engraved case with the original gilded finish. A fine textured silvered dial with subsidiary alarm dial and 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with alarm set. Push button repeating. The original lever escapement. Numbered 1054 and 19552. Circa 1855-60. Height 5 1/2" / 14 (size with handle down) Depth 3 / 8 cms Width 3 1/2 " / 9 cms.
