This exquisite Edwardian necklace is a wonderfully feminine piece, finely handcrafted in 15 carat gold around 1910. Designed with graceful foliate motifs, it features a beautiful arrangement of amethysts and seed pearls in a romantic and elegant style typical of the period. At the centre sits an oval amethyst, from which three lovely pear-shaped amethyst drops are suspended, each displaying a rich, vibrant purple hue. A further two round stones complete the composition, creating perfect balance and movement. The goldwork is delicately adorned with tiny split pearls, which continue along the integrated chain, adding softness and refinement to the overall design. The pendant section measures approximately 3cm in width with a 3.5cm drop, and the chain is 16 inches (40cm) in length. The three principal amethysts each measure around 9mm × 6.5mm. The necklace is fully stamped 15ct gold on both the pendant and the lobster clasp, and it weighs 9.3 grams.
