Edwardian 15ct Gold Blue Topaz & Old Cut Diamond Lavalier Necklace – Antique Circa 1910

A beautifully elegant Edwardian blue topaz and diamond necklace, finely crafted in 15ct gold and platinum and dating to circa 1910. The delicate fine curb-link chain leads to two slender knife-edge gold bars forming an elegant V-shaped centre, from which a long articulated drop is suspended. Two graduated old-cut diamonds, each finely milgrain set in platinum, lead to a wonderfully coloured oval-cut blue topaz below. The topaz displays an attractive strong blue colour and is held within a delicate four-claw gold setting, allowing the stone plenty of light and movement. The articulated construction gives the pendant a graceful fluidity when worn, while the combination of warm 15ct gold, white platinum, old-cut diamonds and vivid blue topaz is particularly characteristic of fine jewellery from the early 20th century.
