Edwardian Mahogany Stick Stand With Turned Legs

Classically designed, elegant in stature. I think these stick and umbrella stands sit so well in Edwardian and Victorian hallways. The nice heritage of yesteryear, extremely practical, no need to lean the umbrellas against a wall to make everything damp and wet. What's not to like! Three dividing compartments to keep them all in order, complete with the original galvanized drip tray with a blackened patination finish. Bearing time honored wear in keeping with a piece from the early 1900's Edwardian period, spanning the reign of King Edward VII. Nice bit of history. I love the tapered turned legs with block ends and button ends resting on the floor. The finial capping's on the top of each leg remind me of mushrooms, and the delicate lines look just right for the era. Constructed in hard wearing mahogany, the warm hue of the rich colours change and become highlighted when the light bounces of the wood. Charming in everyway.
