Description
A delightful Edwardian silver matchbox case, with a cast figure of a pug. The figure is beautifully modelled and full of character, with lovely detail and garnet set eyes.
A very unusual piece, it is inscribed 'Ch. Mister Dandy L.K.A June 1910' and was probably a commemorative prize at the Ladies Kennel Association Show. Records reveal that this took place in Regents Park, London, at that time and was indeed won by a pug breed.
A charming and unusual piece for the collector and dog lover.
