Edwardian coopered oak barrel walking stick stand. Brilliant size that will fit into any room setting. Golden oak that is banded with brass and fixed with brass rivets. Made by Lethbridge's Cooperage of Plymouth, their label is to the base. A family business since 1800 famous for making household items converted from industrial goods. In this case a genuine oak cask barrel has been made into a stick stand. Into the top rim there are three sections partitioned by oak bars. The layout allows the tin drip tray which fits into the base to be easily removed. Probably originates from a country house where these were often used. Could also be used as an umbrella stand.
