This is a particularly rare, early 20th century, electrical recording rain gauge by Negretti & Zambra of London with serial No. 225. This records rainfall from a tilting bucket rain gauge sited outdoors remotely from this instrument, it records rainfall in 100th of an inch steps and automatically returns it to the bottom of the chart when 1 inch of rainfall has been recorded. This mechanism is housed in a polished oak case with an all-glass lid. The external gauge is available by separate negotiation. A similar instrument with the chart drawer, serial No. 224, is also available.
A limited number of recording charts are available.
