Excellent Georgian Old Sheffield Plate Wirework Basket

Delightful and rather rare Georgian wirework basket in desirable Old Sheffield Plate. The shaped rectangular body has a solid base with wonderful intertwined wirework, extending to the fully cast floral rim, which was very typical of the era. The swing handle is also of wire work and has a central oval panel with vacant cartouche. An excellent decorative item, useful for bread, cakes or fruit. Origin:- English Date:- c1830
