An extremely rare novelty Victorian silver table vesta. The body is formed to represent a grand piano and has repoussé decoration, featuring classical scenes. The hinged keyboard cover opens to reveal the striker and the lid opens to reveal the compartment for matches. Dutch in origin, there are London import marks, allowing an accurate date.
A wonderful and unusual collector's piece.
