Fine 1940s Sterling Silver Tea Strainer & Matching Stand
A very stylish English sterling silver tea strainer, unusually with its original stand to perfectly capture any drips. A pretty pierced art nouveau Celtic style design to the handle and the cup rest, and the drainage holes and slits are also attractively arranged. Both the strainer and the stand are hallmarked for Sheffield 1943, maker James Edward Barry.
A lovely gift for a tea drinker and particularly nice to have the complete set.
measurements
The strainer measures 12.9cm (5 1/16") long and 6.1cm (2 3/8") wide and the bowl measures 2.4cm (15/16") high. Together they weigh 73g / 2.4ozt.
