Fine Edwardian Royal Worcester Porcelain George Cole Rose Dessert Plate 1905
A beautifully painted dessert plate by Royal Worcester, with a striking pink and cream rose set against a muted washed background of blush pink, lemon, pale green and with a hint of the sky above. The leaves fading delicately into the hazy background and sharply defined jasmine sprig to the foreground. Unsigned but attributed to George Cole. Factory stamp to the reverse, dating to 1905, painted pattern number 6934 and impressed mark 1A.
Reference: item 2622 in the Royal Worcester Museum is a vase painted by Cole with an identical style of decoration.
