A fine example of a high Victorian small brass inkwell, By the sought-after manufacturer William Tonks & Sons. Of unusual design with “marine’’influenced decoration The handles designed as fish With Neptune mask and shell pattern to the body and tray Very well cast, finished and detailed The inkwell has a removable metal liner. The underside of the body bears the manufacturer's trademark W.T&S with sunburst logo, and the registration Diamond mark dating the design to 19th January 1881 very good condition Recently professionally polished and looking superb Please see photographs. Approx size Length 4.75 inches-12cm, Width 3.5 inches- 9cm height 3.5 inches-9cm.
