Description
This is a superb quality pair of French gilt bronze wall sconces in the Louis XVI style dating from around 1870. The sconces are a fabulous design having central stags heads with branching antlers. There are three anthemion sconce on acanthus leaf scrolling branches with beautiful sunflower roundels. The bases have further oak and acorn detailing which is echoed in the collar to the stags neck.
A very fine pair indeed.
These are substantial in size measuring 56 cms high by wide.
