First Period Worcester Porcelain Coffee Cup Chinese Figures / Mandarin Pattern c.1770

A lovely Worcester porcelain coffee cup with grooved handle, very finely painted with Chinese style figures. Two are stood beside a large table, and the other outside by a shrub and jardinière stand, offering it appears something to the other two gentlemen, who don't appear to be very impressed with the gift. A fine use of enamels in iron red, bright turquoise, puce pink, lilac, black and yellow. An underglaze blue border runs around the inside and the rim is gilded. c.1770.
