Description
Pretty and unusually decorated early Worcester tea cup and saucer with a wet blue ground with simple rounded white reserves painted with flowers in Compagnie des Indes style in a delicate palette of pink, purple, green and turquoise with a touch of orange. Restricted gilded decoration, scalloped edges to the reserves and feathery leaves and graduated lines up the underside of the handle terminals. Crescent mark to the base of both pieces and provenance stickers for the Whitehouse Collection, number 405.
