Description
This is a fine Worcester porcelain soup plate decorated in the atelier of James Giles in the pattern known as the "Lady Mary Wortley Montagu" pattern with three large shaped reserves with a blue scale ground painted with exotic fancy birds. A central circular reserve is painted with flowers and fruit and rich ornate raised gilding is applied over the scale blue ground in between. Blue fretted square mark to the base.
