French black lacquer and brass bureau plat

This is an extremely good quality and super decorative French Louis XV style black lacquered, brass inlaid and brass mounted bureau plat, circa 1900 and in great condition. The proportions of this bureau are generous, so would work well as an everyday desk, but could also work as a dressing table with a wall mounted mirror or standing mirror. In a large hall or dining room, this could also work well as a server or console table. Beautiful lines with the serpentine and cabriole legs, the simplicity of the brass banding to the three sides, a single gilt band to the top and those brass mounts to all four legs are second to none. You could free stand this piece, although the rear doesn't have the brass banding as shown, but you do see the brass mounts and the lacquer finish is superb. Three good size drawers and are all running well. There is a finger slide below the drawers, so no need for handles. Great condition and a superb piece of decorative French furniture.
