Description
1950s Gents of Leicester Night Watchman~Tell-Tale Clock Fully Working- Not electric. Fusee movement recently serviced
Gents of Leicester night watchmans clock recorder.
Fully working wind up clock 8 day fusee movement
These were used as part of a security system to ensure the night watchman/security was doing his job checking all doors.gates and other secure places within the premises.
During his regular rounds at each location he would insert a key into a contact box, which was wired to the clock. On turning the key this would make a circuit and cause the marker in the clock to operate and leave a dot on the revolving paper chart fixed to the drum.
The paper once his shift had ended could be checked to make sure all the check points had been visited and at what time he had checked each point (contact box).
In this clock the drum turns every 24 hours. After checking a new paper was fixed to the drum(which is removable with one lever). The drum can be lined up in sync/same time with the clock and runs off the clock movement. The clock is fully working with a 8 day fusee movement. It comes with key.
Collection preferred. This is a heavy clock
