Description
A wonderful silver brooch by the greatest name in Danish silver, Georg Jensen. This gorgeous piece has an openwork heart shaped frame and dates from the mid 20th century. Applied to the front are twin branches of leaves and tendrils. The reverse is fully marked and the pin is secured by a rollover clasp.
The brooch was designed by Arno Malinowski, who worked at the Jensen factory from 1936 until 1965 and is in the Art Deco taste. It is marked Denmark, 925S, Georg Jensen & Wendel a/s, 242B.
The Jensen & Wendel mark allows dating to the narrow window of 1945-51, when this mark was used only for this short time. A superb and wearable piece by a great name.
