George I Pair of Antique Silver Tankards, London 1718

A stunning pair of antique silver George I mugs or tankards. Made in London in 1718 by Joseph Clare I. They are in excellent condition having survived for over three hundred years as an immaculate pair of drinking vessels. They have an "S" scroll handle and a crisp set of matching hallmarks under the base. One has a later inscription on the base and there are no inscriptions or erasures on the bodies.
